Applications are invited for three non-tenure- track senior research scientist positions, funded by the EU-FP7 program “Marine Electrical Initiative” (MARINELIVE). MARINELIVE aims at establishing a European Center of Excellence in the field of All Electric Ship (AES) at the School of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (NAME - http://www.naval.ntua.gr) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA – http://www.ntua.gr), in collaboration with outstanding European Institutions.
The activities of the senior scientists will correspond to the principal areas of AES research. In particular, applications of candidates are solicited with expertise in:
1.Electric Grid Configurations, Protection and Power Management Supply
2.Automation and Control Systems
3.CFD Modelling & Optimization of Internal Combustion Engines
For all positions, experience with Ship Propulsion Systems will be an asset.
The candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. The candidates should also have excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Duties will include supporting research in the AES and related fields, contributing to the acquisition of research grants, supporting students, and participating actively in the organization of the MARINELIVE events. A competitive compensation is offered.
