The University of Antwerp is seeking a PhD research fellow in algebraic geometry following full time vacancy (m/f) at the research group “non-commutative algebra and geometry".

The main topics of research of the group are non-commutative algebra and geometry, representation theory and invariant theory, non-commutative algebraic geometry and homological algebra. The group is seeking to further the research on non-commutative deformations and to enlarge its activities to questions related to symplectic geometry, Fukaya categories and mirror symmetry.

Profile and requirements
· The candidate will prepare a PhD in one of the subdomains of non-commutative geometry and is given the chance to participate in an international project.

· Candidates for this position have a Master diplome in Mathematics or Physics and have a strong back-ground in geometry and algebra.

· Good communication/writing skills and a good mastery of the English language is essential.

· The position is available for an initial period of 1 year, with a possible extension up to 4 years.
