The Centre for Unified Computing, University College Cork, as part of the IBM Exascale activity is seeking a PhD candidate. Students with background from Electrical or Computer Science Engineering background are asked to apply. A Master degree is desirable. Background in graph theory will be an added advantage.

Job Description
The Exascale activity will adopt a Stream Computing paradigm and will utilize streaming hardware and techniques some of which will be developed as part of this activity. Familiarity with non-traditional computing models employing data-driven and demand-driven techniques is desirable. He/She should be a fluent English speaker, a proficient programmer and should have a working knowledge of functional languages and concepts. His/Her interests should lie in the software/hardware interface and he/she should be familiar with the architectures of GPUs and GPGPUs.
