An exciting opportunity is now available for a Research Assistant to work in the Bishop Lab as a member of a EU-consortia called BRAVISSIMO, (BRAssinosteroid Venture Increasing StudentS' International Mobility). The project in the Bishop Lab will focus on understanding how plant growth promoting steroid hormones Brassinosteroids (BRs) affect growth and development in tomato. This will be carried out by using reporter genes and by under- and over-expressing known or novel (in collaboration with other EU-partners) BR related genes in tomato.
You will be expected to register for a MPhil/PhD and must possess a BSc, MSc, MRes or equivalent qualification in a relevant Biological Science; show a proficiency in molecular biology and sequence analysis, preferably in plants; and have experience of working on a molecular biology project.
