A PhD scholarship in agricultural ecosystems has been announced by the University of Tuscia, Italy. The PhD scholarship is in association with the European project GHG-Europe (www.ghg-europe.eu), a 3-years position, leading to a PhD, is open at the University of Tuscia (Italy).

Description
The research will aim at a better and more comprehensive understanding of the cropland carbon cycle and responses of CO2, N2O and CH4 fluxes to variability in environmental (climate) and agronomic management within a region in Central Italy. Work will involve: field activity for the collection of GHG balance measurements and ancillary data on soil and vegetation; laboratory analysis of plant and soil samples; collection of information on current and past agronomic management and implementation into a geographic information system (GIS).

Applicants should have a MSc (corresponding to 300 ECTS or at least 4 years of graduate studies) in the field of Agricultural Sciences or Environmental Sciences. Fluency in Italian or English (TOEFL test or similar) is required. Experience relevant to the subject of the research and computer skills in GIS would be considered as additional assets.
