The Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en Biologie Humaine et Moléculaire, IRIBHM is offering PhD scholarships in Medicine. The IRIBHM is a research institute of the Medical School of the Free University of Brussels (Université Libre de Bruxelles, ULB).
The institute offers an internationally prominent research environment in molecular biology and life sciences, that engage different topics that span from receptor pharmacology and new therapeutic targets discovery, early embryonic development, neurobiology, stem cells to cancer. The institute has trained several talented young scientists both at the graduate and postdoctoral level.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master degree and be eligible to enter the PhD Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.

Letter of recommendation: In addition, we request letters of recommendation from two scientists/professors who are familiar with your academic work and who can judge your potential as a PhD student. Please forward the enclosed letters to the referees and ask them to send their letters of recommendation directly to the address above. These letters are an essential part of your application, and it is your responsibility to ensure that the referees write to us before March 31th, 2011.
Selection procedure
Complete applications will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of group leaders of the IRIBHM. Interviews The short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview which will be held in Brussels in May 2011 (dates will be published closer to the time). Full details about the interview procedure will be sent to invited candidates. Travel expenses are reimbursed and free accommodation is provided.
Admission
Offers of admission will be made to the successful candidates shortly after the interview period.
Start
PhD Students must start their research in Autumn 2011.
Language
