Master degree scholarships in economics for the year 2011 has been announced by the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics.Barcelona GSE offers seven programs leading to two master degrees: the Master Degree in Economics and Finance and the Master Degree in Specialized Economic Analysis. The programs give students the analytical skills and specialized knowledge for a wide variety of career opportunities in regulatory agencies, international economic institutions, corporations, and academia, among others.
Admission Criteria
There are four main criteria for admission: academic preparation, English language requirement, quantitative skills (GRE/GMAT), and letters of recommendation.
The specific requirements listed below should be considered orientative rather than absolute. Excellence in one area may compensate for a shortcoming in another. In the end what is evaluated is the whole file.
Academic Preparation:
* Undergraduate/bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university
* Outstanding academic record
* Most common undergraduate degrees: Economics, Finance, Engineering, Sciencies, Mathematics.

English Language Requirement:
* All Barcelona GSE master programs are taught entirely in English.
No proof of english language is required if your first language is english or last degree was taught in english. For every other case TOEFL or IELTS score is required.
Quantitative Skills (GRE/GMAT):
GRE is not compulsory, although many applicants do choose to provide their test scores in order to demonstrate proficient quantitative skills. Applicants who have taken the GMAT are welcome to submit their exam scores, but should note that the GRE is preferred by the admissions committee.
Letters of Reference:
The two letters of reference are an extremely important element in the application package. It is possible to add a third letter.
Please have your letters of reference emailed directly to references@barcelonagse.eu or sent by mail in a sealed envelope with the signature of the referee to:
