Two PhD Positions in Organic Synthesis and Organometallic Chemistry is available at the Department of Chemistry, Uppsala University, Sweden.

The Department of Chemistry is located at the Uppsala Biomedical Center, and is a joint department between organic-, analytical-, bio-, and physical chemistry. The research at the department focuses on organic synthesis, organometallic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, and chemical biology. The Department of Chemistry consists of 100 employees of which 50 are graduate students.

PhD Description

The PhD student is expected to carry out advanced research in synthetic organic chemistry, including performing transition metal catalysis and advanced organic synthesis. The position will also include writing research reports and manuscripts for publication in international journals. Thus, the candidate must have very good knowledge in written and spoken English.

Qualifications required

To qualify for a PhD position the applicant must have at least a Master Degree with a Major in Chemistry. We are looking for a devoted, motivated, and hard-working candidate willing to work in a stimulating research field. Furthermore, the candidate should have a deep interest in synthetic organic chemistry.
