This was the email that I received from the secretary of Daimler and Benz Foundation, for which I am removing the information content of this post.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Since October 2009 the PhD fellowship programme of Daimler and Benz Foundation has been cancelled. The Daimler and Benz Foundation is not able to accept new fellowship applications. Please strike our institution with full details off all your lists.
